TITLE: Human Resources Generalist

TERMS: Days to be worked (Full Time), Exempt

RATE OF PAY: $55,000 to $65,000 DOE

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Director of Human Resources to support the Human Resources department with the day-to-day operations. Such duties include training, talent development, recruitment, employee relations, healthcare benefits enrollment, associate event/recognition programs, conducting investigations, discipline, unemployment hearings, FMLA/ADA/STD, and Worker’s Compensation processing and administration.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides guidance to managers, supervisors, and team leaders on Human Resources issues;
  • Assist with the full-cycle recruiting process, including staff requisitions (PCR), posting positions, advertising, working with Managers to source and screen candidates, conduct interviews, design interview questions, background checks and administrating pre-employment on boarding;
  • Assist with the company’s training initiatives, ensuring compliance with company standards and requirements;
  • Assist the HR Director with numerous reoccurring and newly assigned projects such as Annual Hourly Performance Review Process, Annual Hourly Increases, Dispensary Agent renewal process, Benefit Open Enrollment, Paylocity Management, Employee Management and Relations, New Hire Orientation, etc;
  • Implements Human Resources programs ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state employment regulations and company policies and procedures;
  • Provides weekly update on key initiative and projects during one-on-one sessions with the HR Director;
  • Ability to perform high quality of work within the deadlines with or without supervision;
  • Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information;
  • Performs a wide range of duties relative to the maintenance and processing of personnel records, reports, and employee personnel files;
  • Oversee and maintain employee relations to diagnose, assess, and resolve critical issues or challenges and implement progressive discipline when necessary;
  • Maintain and update employee personnel files;
  • Assists the HR Director in the development and implementation of policies and procedures including the preparation and maintenance of employee handbooks;
  • Provides coaching and training for managers and employees; analyze performance issues and recommends potential solutions;
  • Participates in the development of department goals and objectives:
  • Must be able to work with or around marijuana plants and all of their bi-products;
  • Work well and effectively with fellow co-workers in a productive way that is conducive to a professional work environment;
  • Process payroll by-weekly as needed;
  • Assist managers in payroll issues to get them resolved in a timely manner;
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ACCEPTABLE EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age;
  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check that would enable possession of a dispensary agent card;
  • Must have a high school diploma or an equivalent;
  • Preferred minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent;
  • Three to five plus years of progressive experience in Human Resources positions;
  • Paylocity experience preferred;
  • Experience with healthcare benefits and the open enrollment process;
  • SHRM Certification preferred;
  • Must be excellent verbal and written communicator with sound interpersonal skills;
  • Must be able to immediately obtain and maintain an Arizona Dispensary Agent Card;
  • Knowledgeable in employment law and other government compliance regulations and requirements;
  • Familiar with healthcare benefit programs and the open enrollment process;
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet for record keeping and database activities;
  • Ability to work across departmental lines with other managers and senior staff. Must work well with all associates, the public, and vendors as required;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented;
  • Proven success in the HR or business Operations;
  • Strong adherence to confidentiality;
  • Ability to motivate and lead by example.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, and use of hands;
  • Frequently stooping, bending, and reaching;
  • Must be able to work indoors or outdoors;
  • Must be able to work in quiet, noisy, or crowded environments;
  • Observe, see, hear and respond to directions given with effective outcomes;
  • Lift 25-40 pounds from the floor to a waist-high table when necessary;
  • Crouch & bend when needed;
  • Stand for short/ high periods of time;
  • Sit for short/ high periods of time;
  • Walk for short/high periods of time;
  • Occasionally sit on the floor or at floor level;
  • Handle the responsibilities and routine stress often associated with this position;

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

TIME MANAGEMENT: Must plan two to twelve weeks in advance, depending upon the directive given by the HR Director.

STRESS MANAGEMENT: Periodic stress due to intermediate time deadlines and timely implementation of department particulars.

PUBLIC CONTACT: Effectively and professionally interacts primarily with general public.

RESPONSIBILITY: Work collaboratively with your manager in establishing, implementing, organizing, and evaluating an effective HR program.
